I value honesty, creativity and pragmatism in both my personal and professional endeavors.
Before joining Lot Sixteen, I spent 15 years walking the halls of Congress as a reporter covering energy, environment, transportation, budget and tax policy. I’ve also covered federal agencies during my two-decade career as a DC journalist.
Those experiences have ingrained me with a deep appreciation for the process, personalities and politics that produce policy outcomes. I love the granular details underlying policy debates and the manner and complexity in which circumstances align to effect change.
I grew up in Alabama and Maryland, and graduated from Villanova University before heading to the University of Colorado-Boulder to pursue a master’s degree in journalism. I settled in DC in 2001 after a few years bouncing around mountain towns in the West, snowboarding and working the night shift at local newspapers.
In my free time, I love traveling, being outside, live music and hanging out with my children and partner.
