Austin Laufersweiler
With a decade of strategic communications experience under my belt, I've learned the value of persistence, candor, brevity (when possible), and perhaps most importantly, a sense of humor.
A team player through and through, I thrive coordinating between groups of stakeholders and internal teams. I believe that building and maintaining trust is paramount when working with clients, and trust and respect go hand-in-hand.
Prior to joining Lot Sixteen, I led communications strategy for the nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service's work supporting smooth presidential transitions and improving the Senate confirmation process. As a former communications director on Capitol Hill and a spokesperson for political and issue advocacy campaigns, earned media is familiar territory for me. But the challenges I enjoy most are developing and executing communications plans with clear goals, high stakes and committed partners.
I'm originally from Marietta, Georgia, but my roots are spread across the South and Midwest. I'm a proud University of Georgia alum with degrees in political science and communication (I don't follow much football, but Go Dawgs, still). On evenings and weekends, you can find me practicing my handstand in a yoga class, convening friends to play a complicated board game and occasionally country-western dancing.
